Selmer have done something very interesting with this mouthpiece. Although metal mouthpieces have in recent years gained the reputation as being used for almost any other style of music other than classical, It’s quite easy to forget that legendary French classical saxophonist Marcel Mule played on a metal mouthpiece! And it’s great to see Claude Delangle wanting to bring this idea back to the classical world. And with Selmer’s innovative design, you can now have the best of both. The comfortable feel of hard rubber, with the colourful tonal qualities of metal! 

My experience of playing this mouthpiece was very similar to the Concept, just with more of everything. I found it much easier to play louder with this mouthpiece, and the brass chamber gives the tone a sort of “ringing” quality. This is particularly noticeable in the upper octave. I would say that if you regularly play more intimate classical concerts then this mouthpiece might be a bit overpowering.
